DISCOPRO EXPANDS ACROSS WEST AND EAST AFRICA
JOHANNESBURG, 25 November — Following the record-breaking attendance which marked the 4th edition of the DISCOPRO pitching, learning and matchmaking program earlier this month, plans are already in motion to further develop DISCOPRO — which runs parallel to the Johannesburg-based edition of the twice-yearly film, TV content and adaptation rights market DISCOP AFRICA. This expansion will include two additional satellite events in 2016 in Abidjan, from 31 May to 2 June, alongside DISCOP AFRICA Abidjan, and in Nairobi, from 24 to 26 August, alongside the KALASHA FESTIVAL.

KALASHA INTERNATIONAL APPOINTS FESTIVAL DIRECTORS
Kalasha International, an initiative by the KENYA FILM COMMISSION in partnership with the FRENCH EMBASSY in Kenya, has appointed MEDIA PROS AFRICA, a Nairobi based media consultancy firm monitoring Africa’s multiplatform content production and distribution industries, to direct the Film Festival. The Festival will provide a platform for screenings, discussions and networking with stakeholders from East Africa and beyond.

DISOCPRO is Africa’s premiere coproduction forum for independent content producers to pitch, learn and meet with buyers, sales agents, financiers and donors.
